Prepare Your Taste Buds for Gourmet Cheetos Pizza

Cheetos Pizza

Cheetos on pizza? Are we hearing this right? Indeed, you are, as Slate, a bar in Manhattan, NY has unveiled a rather peculiar pizza topping — Cheetos. This new addition to the menu will get either a “yummy” or “yuck” response from you. However, don’t judge before you have eaten Slate’s “Four Play Mac & Cheese” pizza. Cheetos, one of the most well known snacks in the world, has recently received a promotion, going from junk food to gourmet status.

Slate has changed the way you view pizzas with their latest food food creationcreation. They have done something unimaginable, yet exquisite. It sets them apart from other bars in the city and if their Cheetos topped pizza receives rave reviews from the public, imitators will not be far behind using the idea for their own gains. If another restaurant does imitate them, Slate should receive it as a compliment, as they were the first!

Slate’s pizza is created using white cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, smoked Gouda, Béchamel sauce, cavatappi pasta, and topped with cheesy, crunchy Cheetos. What a grand garnish, we must say! Even though it is an unusual topping, it might pique people’s interest who may want to bite down on some crunchiness.

Who created this exotic looking delight?

38-year-old Darryl Harmon came up with the idea to combine Cheetos and pizza together. For Harmon, Cheetos was his comfort junk food to snack on while he was a young lad watching football with his family on Sundays in South Jersey. He loved his mother’s homemade mac “n” cheese, takeout pizza, and of course, Cheetos.

It was then that the light bulb went off in his head and he decided to combine the three loves of his life to create something memorable and newsworthy. By the way, he succeeded, as most outlets, including us, are talking about his creation. This in return makes his pizza stand out, as everyone will remember when the pizza topped with Cheetos first came out and by whom.

So, has this been Harmon’s first foray into taking two very different things and putting them together to make something incredible? According to Harmon, he has incorporated Cheetos into several other dishes he has cooked at home for himself. He has encrusted a steak with Cheetos, put the chips on top of broccoli soup, and has made breadcrumbs using them. However, this is the first time he has used Cheetos as a topping on pizza.

This is not the only type of chips on the menu, as he has stuffed the Philly cheese steak with beignets and Doritos. Both the pizza and Philly cheese steak are full of calories so if you are calorie conscious, you might want to skip the appetizers. If you are tempted to try the appetizers, consider having a cheat day, especially on the weekends when you are out with your pals. You can exercise the calories off next day at the gym, but do visit Slate to give your taste buds something new to taste.
