Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are all set to light the big screen on fire after almost 10 years. They will be seen together in the movie By the Sea which is set release on November 13, 2015. By the Sea is written, directed and produced by Angelina Jolie. The couple was present at the movie’s world premiere at the Audi Film Festival in Hollywood.
The movie is set in the 1970s. Pitt and Jolie play a married couple who are in a crumbling relationship. Jolie plays the role of a former dancer, and Pitt is a writer who is suffering from writer’s block. The story encapsulates their travel to a remote hotel in South France as they try to save their broken relationship.
During the premiere, Brangelina opened up about working together. According to them, the emotions shown in the movie are a stark contradiction of the emotions they share in real life, as they portray a couple on the brink of a disaster. Brad Pitt said that working on the movie together was fun, and both of them had a good time. He also mentioned that after the shooting of the movie was over, they came out stronger. “Making something together which she wrote was a real pleasure,” said Pitt.
Angelina didn’t forget to mention how different this movie was from Mr. and Mrs. Smith, because the comparisons were bound to follow, since the couple was last seen together ten years ago in that very movie. As actors, they have both tried to be very open and have experimented with their roles. The movie takes the emotional quotient up a notch.
The couple also discussed how this movie was extremely personal for them, and there were some scenes which completely tore them up. None of the problems portrayed on-screen were similar to their problems, but they could relate to the fights. What made the entire movie difficult was the fact that they couldn’t be the husband and wife they were in real life. The struggle between real and reel took a toll on them emotionally.
“You can’t go across the room and nurture the other person. You have to stay in your corner and you have to perform and you have to push through,” said Angelina Jolie. When asked about working under Angelina as a boss, Brad Pitt gushed and said that though there were instances where she was disappointed by a scene or two, on an overall basis, she was a good boss.
Brad and Angelina are almost Hollywood royalty, and their romance and chemistry is always talked about in the industry. This movie definitely comes as a huge gift for all their fans. Though both of have them have appeared in several movies, this will be the first time in ten years they will be seen together. In fact, back then, the media was all over them because Pitt had just left Jennifer Anniston for Angelina. Nobody really thought they would still be together ten years down the line, but they definitely proved everyone wrong.
