Fashion world has revolutionized in the last one year. Here are some the biggest fashion trends of 2015

Here are some of the biggest fashion trends of 2015

  1. Designer Sneaker

Move over stilettos and wedges and make way for chic athleticism. This trend reined the fashion trend this year. The designer sneakers reached new heights with high tops and lofty prices. Retro prints, new designs and ultimate comfort made the product more interesting.

  1. Pleated Skirts

Gucci’s Lurex version got all the press attention. A plenty of other designers introduced their nerdy takes of the skirts and this below-knee pleated skirt was talk of the town. The trend is going to stay for a long while. It might rule the year 2016 and people will introduce more versions with fabrics like leather.

  1. Clothes Horse

Amal Clooney ruled the fashion brains in 2015. Every designer wanted to dress her up. Her outfits ruled the fashion blogs and fashion press. From Sonia Rykiel, Giambattista Valli and Dolce & Gabbana to Miu Miu and Stella McCartney, she ruled it all. Her jet-set lifestyle and high-profile marriage to George Clooney will keep up this trend in 2016 too.

  1. The Naked Dress

Celebrities with their wild choices and bold options proved how much impact one can make with a squeeze from a strand of strategically placed lace or sequins. Beyoncé in Givenchy and Jennifer Lopez in Versace arrived in nearly naked dresses. Every other big time gala saw these dresses but thankfully this trend was left exclusively for red carpet appearances.

  1. Transition

Caitlyn Jenner has made strong enough statements already. More transgender fashion models walked the runways and posed for advertisements. There were no specific mentions of their gender. Transsexuals were given more opportunities and made it to the front of the runway. Lea T, a model whose real name is Lea Cerezo was the cover girl for the hair-care brand Redken. She has been a longtime muse to Ricardo Tisci at Givench. Making strong statements, she also featured in Vogue Paris as well as Forbes. She has been walking runways since 2011.

  1. The Bucket Overflows

It was undoubtedly the bag of 2015. Mansur Gavriel’s bucket bag made it as the signature bag for this year. Launched at a really affordable price of $50, it made a strong appearance and competed with bags that were prices way too higher than this. It also witnessed copycats that blatantly imitated the design. The brand is still being treated well as Mansur Gavriel has promised to launch shoes and clothing and issue new bags at twice the price. It might be one-time wonder or a forever essential, the debate is still on. More rectangular ladylike bags will be introduced so that they readily accommodate iPads and other gadgets.

  1. Catwalks

The trends have been changing for fashion shows. Gone are the days when clothes were shown on the runway months before they appeared in stores. The Council of Fashion Designers of America hired management consultants to come up with a new system. Rebecca Minkoff has already decided to show clothes on the runway as soon as they hit the stores.
