As British designer Stella McCartney decided to present her Autumn 2016 collection, musicians, celebrities and fashion artists from all around the world decided to come together. Amidst the buzzed up Hollywood Awards season, Stella McCartney was all set to present her much awaited collection. The event was complete with all the required glitz and glamour.
This fashion show was not like the regular fashion events that the industry witnesses. Models danced between rows of records and CDs at Hollywood’s landmark Amoeba Music store. Wearing the new animal-friendly and environment friendly, ‘fur-free fur’, the models looked stunning. Their embroidered coats and jackets adorned in cat motifs and leopard and tiger prints were the center of attraction.

McCartney is known for breaking the stereotypes. She brings in new designs and newer fabrics and her team-up game for the attires is on fleek. Her light colored dresses had graphic circles as she decided to pair loose blouses with loose shirts unconventionally. Stella McCartney’s pre-fall line collection came in pastel, cream and earthy tones and had a dash of orange, shades of pink and indigo. Stella McCartney knows how to stand apart from the hardcore industry tantrums. She follows Tom Ford’s footsteps as she has decided to present her main collection in Paris. She will showcase her 2015 fall line in Hollywood in February. Last year, Louis Vuitton held its “LV Series 2” exhibit in Hollywood while Burberry took over Los Angeles’ Griffith Observatory to show its 2015 collection.
“We’d always wanted to have a party in LA and it just really felt like the right time. I have so many close friends here and I spend a lot of time here and it just feels like a moment when music, film, fashion, the arts, it’s all just come together for LA”, said Stella McCartney. McCartney also is known for dressing up selected celebrities for the red carpet. Taraji P. Henson, who won best drama TV actress for “Empire” at the Sunday Golden Globes was wearing a signature Stella McCartney strapless white dress. “We don’t go out and, kind of, attack people and we don’t pay people, we just go with the flow of whatever happens that season”. McCartney was quoted saying. The show brought in some big names like Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Katy Perry and Anjelica Huston to the store. McCartney, daughter of former Beatle Paul McCartney also said music is a key influence here.Kate Hudson was quoted saying, “I’ve been brought up with music, so it’s something that I feel very comfortable around, probably more comfortable around than fashion, quite frankly.”
Los Angeles is all bright and lit up in the glorified honor of fashion season. The red carpets also have rolled out for the two-month awards season. Saint Laurent will present its fall/winter 2016 menswear and part of its womens’ wear collections in Los Angeles on Feb. 10 ahead of the Grammy Awards five days later. The curtains will be coming down straight on Oscar day on February 28. As Academy Awards close in the upcoming season, we can wait for more news.
