Lily Collins and Matt Bomer on Their New Show, Unrequited Love, and Amazon Addictions
Imagine running a television studio and getting to pick the shows that you’ll eventually see on air. Pretty awesome, right? Not only could you save the rest of the viewing world from watching an awful show, but you could elevate a really good one that may never get seen. Well, that’s exactly what Amazon has done with their new slate of pilots—making you, the viewer, the voice of authority. One of those new shows, The Last Tycoon, is now available for “browsing,” and Amazon is hoping that the combination of superstars Matt Bomer, Lily Collins, and Kelsey Grammer, will make you want to commit. The Last Tycoon, based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of the same name, stars Matt Bomer as Hollywood’s golden boy, producer Monroe Stahr, and Kelsey Grammer as his ferocious boss, studio chief Pat Brady. As Stahr, Bomer is seductive, charismatic, and not at all what he seems. Lily Collins makes a star turn as Grammer’s on-screen daughter, Cecelia, who has a crush on Stahr, and Hollywood ambitions of her own. “There’s so many stories to tell in Hollywood in the golden age that stems from truth,” Collins points out. “There is death, destruction and drama; there’s the comedy of the period, the beautiful costumes, and how would you not want to watch Matt Bomer?! Hello! That’s a selling point in and of itself,” laughs the actress.” Bomer jokes that he doesn’t want to be a “used car salesman” telling viewers what to watch “when it comes to my work,” but “the pilot is a template for where a story has the potential to go. I encourage people to watch and judge for themselves.” In other words, allow the pilot to draw you in, and then hope that your fellow Amazon viewers recognize the unlimited potential of this mesmerizing new series. If you’ve seen the ending, you’ll know what we mean. Until then, get to know Collins and Bomer like you never have been before.

Lena Dunham Slams Kanye West’s “Famous” Video: “[It’s] One of the More Disturbing ‘Artistic’ Efforts in Recent Memory”
Over the weekend, Kanye West premiered a controversial video for the already-contentious track “Famous”—the very one that that included the now-infamous line, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous.” Seemingly unsatisfied with the initial backlash the song received during its February debut, West created a visual rendition that featured a roster of celebrity wax figures—among them, Taylor Swift, George W. Bush, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Caitlyn, Jenner, Amber Rose, Bill Cosby, and Donald Trump—lying naked in bed next to him and wife Kim Kardashian. West asserted the video was a tribute to the artist Vincent Desiderio’s 2008 painting Sleep that, as Vanity Fair pointed out, depicted three groups of people affiliated with the rapper: family/collaborators, women he’s been romantically involved with, and “partners in controversy.” Unsurprisingly, the subversive video shocked the public, shocked the actual people depicted in it, and left plenty feeling uncomfortable and disturbed with what kind of message West was trying to send. Among them: Writer/producer/director/friend-of-Taylor-Swift Lena Dunham, who publicly expressed her discontent in a Facebook post on Monday.

THESE Are the Questions Tom Hanks, Carrie Underwood, Shonda Rhimes, and More Hate Being Asked
It’s not just the ladies that get asked superficial questions on a red carpet. Their male counterparts get asked some pretty random questions too. What question annoys them more than anything? And what do they wish celebrity journalists would stop asking once and for all? We posed that very issue to fan faves Tom Hanks, Carrie Underwood, Shonda Rhimes, and more—*and* you won’t believe what they had to say.
