As many of you know by now, OnePlus had announced a new smartphone yesterday, the OnePlus 3T. This is essentially an upgraded version of the OnePlus 3, as it looks identical to the OnePlus 3, but comes with a more powerful SoC, better front-facing camera, and a larger battery on the inside, plus the OnePlus 3T comes in both 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC compared to the Snapdragon 820 on the OnePlus 3, and it comes with a 3,400mAh battery, while the regular model sports a 3,000mAh unit. The 16-megapixel front-facing snapper can be found on the OnePlus 3T, while an 8-megapixel shooter is available on the OnePlus 3.
OnePlus has been having issues delivering enough OnePlus 3 units to consumers as shipments were delayed quite a bit over the last couple of months, and rumors are saying that the device’s 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display is to blame, as the company is reportedly having issues getting enough such panels to use. In any case, the OnePlus 3 is currently not available from OnePlus, and it has been that way for a couple of weeks now, as the device is currently listed as ‘Out Of Stock’. People have been wondering whether the phone will be available at all from this point on, as the OnePlus 3T just landed, but those of you who are still looking to purchase the more affordable OnePlus 3 model, well, we have good news for you. OnePlus has officially confirmed that the OnePlus 3 is coming back, the company confirmed this while talking to fans on Twitter. OnePlus did not say when will the OnePlus 3 become available again, but rest assured, the phone is going to become available soon.
These two devices have a lot in common, as the specs listed above are the only difference between these two phones, so if a larger battery, better front-facing shooter, more storage and a slightly more powerful SoC are not high on your priority list, you might as well purchase the OnePlus 3 once it becomes available, as you will save a bit of money. Both of these devices ship with a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED displays, 6GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. Both devices ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with OnePlus’ OxygenOS on top of it.
