Coco Rocha’s Skin Wasn’t Always Flawless

Coco Rocha, 27, is a Canadian model with flawless skin who did not have a lot of experience in the world of fashion when she first started modeling. In 2002, Charles Stuart, an agent, saw her at an Irish dance competition. He asked her if she would be willing to model for him. She said yes, and the world of fashion got Coco Rocha.

Now, she is one of the most sought out models, having modeled for well-known designers such as Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Emanuel Ungaro, Shiatzy Chen, and Christian Lacroix. She has also graced the covers of many high-end magazines such as Korean, Thai, Australian, and Italian Vogue. If that’s not enough to impress you, she has also been the face of many advertising campaigns including Dior, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana, Rimmel, Calvin Klein, Zac Posen, and more.

When she is not busy working, she is at home spending time with her husband, James Conran, an artist, and her baby girl, Ioni James Conran, who she gave birth to on March 28, 2015. However, her fans already know about her career triumphs and blissful married life, but what they don’t know is her best kept secret to achieving her flawless complexion.

The Canadian beauty makes sure to take off all of her make-up before going to bed, but in the beginning of her career, she didn’t care to wash her face before sleeping. This really cost her down the line. For this reason, she wants people to know that it is important to take care of your skin, especially if your face is covered with make-up. In the past, she made the mistake of sleeping with a full face of make-up for over three years!

She said, “When I started modeling I did not take care of my skin very well. I would do a photo shoot, wake up and in the morning do another shoot thinking they would just remove yesterday’s makeup. That was bad.”

She had to work hard to get her skin looking flawless again after she committed one of the cardinal sins of beauty. The mother of one now dedicates at least one hour every day to her skin care regime. Her beauty regime includes putting on facial masks, using Clearasil, and using skin care products only found in France.

She obsesses over her skin care routine now, saying; “Now I’m OCD about it.” She also revealed her mother’s insistence of taking care of her skin and her never listening to her advice in the past, but then she finally realized that mothers were always right.

Since she is a mother, she likes to spend most of her free time with her 6-month-old daughter Ioni. She wants to let people know that just because you are a model doesn’t mean you have to keep up with the wild lifestyle. When she is not looking after her skin, she is sitting at home in her pajamas watching television just like every other average mother in the world.

She explained, “[…] I just want to hang out with my baby all day long.” Coco Rocha doesn’t miss a chance showing her little girl’s pictures to other models and she does it so often that other models have began to protest, she joked.
