The new Mercedes E-Class – superiority in business class

Mercedes E-Class

Mercedes-Benz has disclosed the interior style of its upcoming E-Class. It’s based on the notion of “contemporary luxury,” which is designed to be spacious and extremely innovative.

The cabin itself relies on a number of materials to give a feeling of luxury. Among those used are open-pore woods, a novel metallic fabric, and leather for protecting the doors and beltline. The seats have what is referred to as an ergonomic and sculptural form, and therefore are designed to be comfortable for very long journeys.

Vehicle occupants can enjoy a Frontbass sound system as standard, which utilizes the space in the cross member and side member of the body structure like a resonance chamber for the bass speakers. Additionally, there’s an optional Burmester 3D multichannel surround sound system.

This latter system comprises 23 high-end speakers, a 25-l (5.5-gal) bass box using its own 400 W amplifier from the boot; two midrange speakers right in front doors and seven midrange speakers and tweeters. Pretty much everything, says Mercedes, is geared towards building a listening experience that is certainly “reminiscent of the acoustics in a concert hall.”

In addition, the E-Class internal features LED lighting, which is upgraded to an enhanced version. This offers owners a selection of64 colors for personalization and brings touches of light to the trim, primary display, entry stowage facility, handle recesses, door pockets, front and back footwells and over head console.

Probably the most exciting aspects, nevertheless, are based on the infotainment system. To begin with, the instrument panel and primary display are formed of two 12.3-in screens, sideways merged, as well as with a resolution of 1920 x 720. That is aimed at giving a feeling of a wide-screen cockpit.

The displays put virtual instruments in the direct sight view of the driver, and also the style of these can be flipped in between “Classic,” “Sport,” or “Progressive.” It is also feasible for the driver to change the information of the primary display based on their choices. Mercedes’ optionally available “COMAND Online” can provide wireless internet, navigation, and weather reports.

There is a new way of managing the infotainment system, too. The E-Class is considered to be the “first ever car to integrate touch control buttons in the spokes of the multifunction steering wheel.” Mercedes explains that these have the ability to react to finger swipes, along with standard presses, enabling the driver to operate functions in a similar way as they would a phone without having to get their hands off the wheel.

These features can also be controlled through the center console making use of single or multi-finger gestures. Users are even able to sketch letters, numbers, and specific characters using a touchpad and have the system read them back so as to allow for eyes-free operation. Voice control functionality also can be obtained on demand.

The revolutionary E-Class is going to be launched in the first half of 2016.
