Rainy Halloween: Weather Forecast

Halloween

Trick-or-Treating is the best time of the year for children. It is the holiday that allows children to eat lots of candy. This year may be a wet Halloween for the children, however. There is a storm that will be hitting from the South all the way up past Michigan. Then there is another storm that is expected to hit the Northwest. All of this is to happen this Saturday evening.

It is expect to be the worst in the lower Mississippi Valley. Due to the conditions, this may cause the area to cancel Halloween parades that are scheduled for the day. There are also concerns of flooding in this area because of hurricane Patricia this past weekend. Once thunder is heard there is a high chance of being struck by lightning. This factor could cause some parents to keep their children indoors. Just be cautious if you are outside.

Raincoats will be a must during this cool, wet Halloween. Strong winds could also be possible during this time between the Northwest and northern Rockies. Any Halloween lawn decorations or any headpieces on costumes should be properly secured as they may be blown away. Meteorologist will be keeping track of these winds as they may become damaging.

Other than the two storms, the weather should be pretty mild in other areas. A jacket may be needed here and there. In the Northeast conditions will be pretty dry. Some areas will reach the 50’s and most areas will be in the 40’s. As the day goes on, however, showers are likely to develop in the interior sections of the Northeast region.

In the Lower Mississippi Valley, Deep South, and northern Gulf Coast region thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.. At times there will be heavy rain that could bring flooding to the areas that were already affected by the rain from last weekend. The rain could spread across to north Georgia and to eastern Tennessee on Saturday evening. In the Florida area, there will be no obstacles for the eager trick-or-treaters there. It is expected to be mainly dry in this area.

Halloween 10

During the day, certain areas of the Great Lakes, middle Mississippi Valley and Ohio Valley may receive some light rain. However, this will not interfere with the children collecting their candy that evening. Jackets may be needed but no immediate concerns will exist for this region that evening. The Pacific Northwest will be very saturated with rain as that moisture moves in ahead of a cold front. Snow and rain are expected in the northern Rockies which may cause many to just stay in the warmth of their homes. It may get a bit windy with cold, strong winds at times.

The mixture of weather throughout is variable. Most of the time children are not concerned about the weather and will want to continue their trick-or-treating. If you decide to go out and brave the elements, just be prepared. Bring an umbrella and jacket with a hood to protect the little ones from getting wet and possibly catching a cold.
