After the bone chilling poster of the new season of “Game of Thrones”, the first official teaser for season 6 was published on HBO’s YouTube channel yesterday. While the poster hinted on Jon Snow coming back, the teaser confirmed it.
Bran Stark is back
Bran Stark’s story took a pretty chilling turn at the end of season 4. Even though, he was right next to his brother Jon Snow, he decided to go beyond the wall instead of meeting Jon. Bran was missing throughout the entire season 5. But it was sort of expected because Bran’s story had reached the same point as the books and the creators of the show had to obviously wait for George R.R. Martin to decide Bran’s fate.
The teaser starts with quick cuts across several main characters. Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark on the show was surprisingly missing from the teaser, but given the huge volume of cast members, we don’t think that’s any sign.
But then a voice comes in the video and this voice was probably of the Three-Eyed Raven who was played by Struan Rodgers in Season 4 and was replaced by Max Von Sydow in Season 6. “The past is already written, the ink is dry” he says as a shot of a wounded Jon Snow comes in the picture.
And then comes the most unexpected voice of Bran Stark who says “They have no idea what’s going to happen”, taking a jab over the show’s famous line, “You know nothing, Jon Snow”. Now whether he meant the viewers or the rest of the seven realms, we will have to wait and find out.
Will the wolves finally howl in the night?
Over the last five season and books of “Game of Thrones”, the Starks have had the worst luck and the only one who looked safe throughout all this was Jon Snow but with him almost dying last season, the fans finally think the worst may be over for the first family of Winterfell.
With Bran’s warg powers, it will definitely be interesting to see how he uses it to save his family. Coming to the other Starks, at the end season 5 Arya became blind and Sansa finally did something courageous and tried to get away from Ramsay Bolton with the help of Theon Greyjoy.
This is the first “Game of Thrones” season without any spoilers
This is the first season of the show where the audience has absolutely no clue of what’s going to happen next. All the previous seasons were based on the books released by George R.R. Martin and since the books had hit the market way before the show came into existence, many people knew about the gruesome twist and turns of the show and tried to ruin it for others as well.
But with this season, both the television series and the books have come at the same point and while the next book is going to be launched by Martin soon, we don’t know when since no specific date has been announced but we do have the date for the television premiere of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 and that is April 2016.
