Last month, Milan witnessed a unique mix of design, glamour and engineering. It was a brisk cozy might and the chic concept store ‘10 Corso Como’ remained packed. The gathering included Italian fashion journalists and honorable people from society, young and old. Pumping up the event was Sita Abellán, a blue-haired model and D.J. who was stylishly dressed head to toe in Moschino. As she spun some good house music, the event was energized. There were attractive servers dressed in white shirts and black trousers who passed out glasses of Prosecco. But the event was highlighted when at sharp 6:30, fashion designer Jeremy Scott arrived with Martin Pos, the founder of Cybex.
Jeremy Scott glamorizes the baby products
The duo was both shocking and intriguing to the crowd. People wanted to know what brought a fashion tycoon and a businessman together. Because Cybex is nowhere close to fashion and the founder hanging out with a fashion designer was shocking to many. Cybex is a Germany based company that makes highly engineered baby strollers and car seats. These custom made high-end baby strollers and seats have become highly popular among jet setting European and Hollywood parents.
In the year 2013, Cybex joined hands with Mr. Scott, the creative director of Moschino. They collaborated to design a rich fashion-forward line of diaper bags, car seats and strollers. He worked upon the idea and designed the items using a wildly patterned fabric with cartoonish images of fast food. This time, the designs do not involve that high graphics. Instead, it is a minimalistic line of fully black baby carriers, car seats and sturdy three-in-one strollers with large gold wings on either side. The combination of black and golden makes the items look highly stunning and luxurious.
High prices justified by highly efficient designs
Till the end of the year, these items will be exclusively sold by 10 Corso Como. They will be available at additional stores in 2016. The baby carrier price range starts from $129.95 and the three-in-one travel system is priced at $1,799.95. The process is justified by the extensive and exclusive engineering Cybex has used in the items. The technicalities are scintillatingly complimented by Jeremy Scott’s designs. “My first designs for Cybex were very colorful and playful. This time I decided to go in the opposite direction: all black with gold details. A little bit ‘pimp my stroller”.
As Mr. Scott does not have any children himself, he did an outbound research about the needs of the babies and parents. He asked his friends from the showbiz and other fields who are parents. But he had his priorities in mind since the very beginning. “The most important thing is safety. From the start, I knew the products were really well designed and tested. I mean, this is a German company. They are very rigorous, to say the least, about safety tests”, told Scott while describing his new designs. Trend editor for Italian Vogue’s website and a guest at the event, Virginia Galateri di Genola described these products as appealing. As a young mother, she loved the idea and security these products offer. Jeremy Scott’s designs made it more detailed. “They are super-fashion but not too much. Super-cool black products with a little touch of gold.” Cybex expects to make a mark between the royal and regal families with its high end products.
