The movie extends for two hours and has lots of behind-the-scenes commentary and revelations from Taylor herself. Here is a compiled list of the biggest revelations made by Taylor Swift.
1. Swift’s personal favorite song to perform was ‘Blank Space’
Taylor Swift calls the famous track the highlight of her shows each night. She also told how she and her team tried to replicate the theatricals of the music video.
2. To find the signature surprise guests was not that hard
Taylor finally explains the extended surprise guest list. “Getting people to say yes to come out onstage was a lot easier than I thought. It really showed me how many artists out there love what they do so much that they are willing to get up and play because it’s fun,” says Swift, who managed a long list of surprise guests for the audiences.
3. She was not expecting Justin Timberlake to say yes
Everyone is aware of the admiration and love Swift has for Justin Timberlake. She had her fangirl moment when she sang his song “Mirrors” alongside him. But she confesses in the video that though she invited him out, she did not expect him to say yes.
4. Everything was not planned in advance
The gig with Mick Jagger was planned when her dad’s friend spotted him out at lunch in Nashville. John Legend was just attending her concert as an audience member when they planned to duet. The entire thing was planned casually 40 minutes before show time.
5. Her first questions to guests
Taylor Swift asked all her guests, “What color do you want the audience to be?” She was referring to the color-changing light bracelets that were gifted upon entry to her concert.
6. 1989 was inspired by losing the Grammy for “Red”
Swift opens up about the album and the tour and explains how she felt after losing the Grammy for “Red.” She went through rigorous self-inspection. “I ended up going home thinking a lot about everything, thinking about where I was going, what I’d been doing, how I felt like I needed to change something. I went to bed, and I woke up at four in the morning, and I knew what the next album needed to be. Everything about this new phase and this new chapter has to be different,” explains Swift.
7. Taylor plans to indulge on carbs
As the tour is over, Taylor Swift says that she is quite tired and is desperately waiting for a break. “Want to learn CPR. Maybe a mixology class. I want to learn how to, like, make a good drink. Maybe I’ll just eat carbs and nothing else for the next couple of months. I don’t have to wear any crop tops,” says Swift in her post-credits commentary.
