The pair nearly came to blows during heated face-off ahead of UFC 196 clash with the defending featherweight champions McGregor taking on Diaz this Saturday
Continued his trend of trash talk, Conor McGregor, the UFC 196 featherweight champion promised to feat on Nate Diaz’s carcass before burying his remains in the Las Vegas desert. The warring pair almost came to blows and were separated from each other 48 hours before the game. The reigning champions further predicted that Diaz will soon be joining the likes of Dustin Poirier, Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo in becoming his latest Sin City victim on Saturday night.
The Thursday press conference became a little ugly when the pair almost came to blows. It happened pretty quickly when Diaz allowed himself to get a little carried away by putting his hand too close to McGregor’s face. The featherweight champion did not like that and punched it away with anger. Security then moved in to cool down the situation and soon after, McGregor exit the stage.
McGregor was once again at his best while bashing his upcoming opponent. Talking to reporters, he claimed that soon Diaz will met the same fate as his previous three challengers.
“I like Vegas; I’ve buried three bodies clean out here and Saturday night will be a fourth body. The dirt is clean, you can scoop it up and stuff bodies in there easily so I will continue to do that.”
He further boasted that he is a lion and he is going to eat Diaz alive.
“I’m a lion in there and I’m going to eat you alive. Your little gazelle friends are going to be looking through the cage watching your carcass getting eaten alive. People run scared all the time. I’ve hunted him down, I’ve stalked him. And on Saturday night I will eat his carcass in front of all his gazelle friends.”
McGregor continued bashing Diaz by calling him a young boy. He added that he will take his time against Diaz and he will play with him. He claimed that his opponent is too identical in his fighting approach and he will use this against him on Saturday.
“I’m going to toy with the young boy, I’m going to play with him. His entries and his exits, his retreats, his feints; his patterns are all identical, he can’t break out of his routine. He is very predictable. People gave Jose the speed advantage but that was a mistake and I think the speed difference will be very, very evident. He’s heavy on his lead foot, he’s like an injured gazelle.”
McGregor was originally scheduled to play the lightweight champions Dos Anjos, who pulled out of the fight last week because of a broken foot. The featherweight champions was hoping to add Anjos’ lightweight 145lb belt to his name as well to become the first fighter in the history of UFC to hold to titles at the same time.
