Disney Is Creating a Live-Action Snow White Film for Her Sister, Rose Red Just call it Sister, Sister! OK, well, not exactly, but there is exciting news about two sisters out of Hollywood today: Walt Disney Company has picked up a project about Snow White’s sis, Rose Red. The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news that Disney is working on a live-action film that reworks the original script. But just who is Rose Red? She appears in the original Grimm’s fairy tales and is the more outgoing and energetic sister (compared to Snow White). However, the character had no relation to the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs fairy tale that inspired the Disney animated film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new story is “a revisionist take that transposes Rose Red into the Snow White tale, making her a key player in the later part of the classic story. When Snow White takes a bite from the iconic poison apple and falls into her sleeping death, her estranged sister, Rose Red, must undertake a dangerous quest with Grumpy and the other dwarfs to find a way to break the curse and bring Snow White back to life.” No further information as far as casting or a release date have been announced.

How Scandal’s Election Is Just Like the Real One: Susan Is Bernie, Mellie Is Hillary, Hollis Is Trump Halfway through this season of Scandal, it felt pretty clear: The series was in desperate need of a refresh. Olivia and Fitz were embroiled in a breakup so wonky, I fell asleep during their respective “it’s not me, it’s you speeches.” Quinn and Huck were doing literally nothing. Elizabeth North and David Rosen’s B-list coupling somehow managed to be skeevy and boring. And Jake living at Rowan’s, like he’s some kindly uncle who teaches him to fish in the summer? What was that? And who does the grocery shopping? But in the past few weeks, Scandal has found its groove again with its election storyline concerning Fitz’s Republican successor. This is a real, meaty contest they’re staging, not a one-episode flirtation with politics—there are polls and bombshells and debate prep. It’s a brilliant move on Scandal’s part—just when I had gone irreversibly bitter on the whole cast, like a clique you suddenly sour on in middle school, they pushed forward some fresh blood to take the focus off the main players. Watch Taylor Swift Surprise Ruby Rose in the Sweetest Way Possible at the GLAAD Awards Taylor Swift was not among the honorees at the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night. In fact, she wasn’t even scheduled to be in attendance. But a couple of hours into the ceremony—which honors film, TV, and the media for their inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community—Swift surprised everyone by gracing the stage to present friend Ruby Rose (Orange Is the New Black) with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award. It was a moment so genuine and surprising that even Rose couldn’t believe that Swift was there on her behalf. “Of all the possible things that could make me cry, I didn’t think about Taylor Swift coming to give me an award,” said a shocked Rose. The ridiculously good-looking couple played Jon Snow (Harington) and Ygritte (Leslie) on the show.
