Nexus 6P: The new generation

Nexus 6PGoogle has continued to try and improve the Android phone. The Nexus phone has been sort of a hobby for Google. Then, the company started seeing how well the Nexus was received and decided to take a closer look. They have changed the look and feel of the Nexus 6P and Android users love it. Google has succeeded in giving the people what they want.

The new Nexus 6P now has an aluminum shell. This replaces the plastic one the previous Nexus’ embodied. There are a few spots that still have plastic, but not enough to make it worth giving a negative critique. Google was careful in the design with the Nexus 6P. It has a sleek look and feel. The raised camera lens is not bulky and does not interfere with the look of the phone. Yes, the Nexus 6P is a large phone, but it is slim. It makes it easier than the previous Nexus models that were thicker to handle. The fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone is in a perfect location. It is like they have designed it specifically for each individual person. At least, that is what some people may think.

The screen is a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen with 2560×1440 pixels. It is not quite the high end quality of the Galaxy Note 5, but it is a decent enough screen. The screen shows sharp images and the text is very easy to read. However, the brightness on the Nexus 6P could use some tweaking. In the sunlight it could be hard to see what is on the phones screen; therefore, you have to adjust the brightness to a higher setting. Also, there is a bluish tint in the white color that shows on the screen. A person that is not dissecting the phone would probably not notice these imperfections.

The Nexus 6P has the latest Google operating system Marshmallow. It also paired with the Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM. The Nexus 6P also does not have a bunch of unnecessary apps that are loaded onto the phone. Compared to the iPhone 6S and the Nexus 5, the Nexus 6P is a bit on the slower side. Considering the two phones that are being compared with the Nexus 6P are the fastest, it is safe to say it still holds its own. Gaming on the Nexus 6P is also a blast. With Marshmallow and Snapdragon 810 combined, it is a breeze to play your favorite games on the Nexus 6P with no worries.

The Bottom Line

Although, the camera quality in the Nexus 6P is still a little unsatisfying, Google is still working to make it better. It still takes some great pictures for someone using a phone and not a top of the line camera. Videos come out pretty good on the Nexus 6P as well. The battery on the Nexus 6P is pretty big which makes the Doze feature a great asset. The bigger battery does not equal more battery life, but if a person uses the charger that is supplied with the phone it will charge faster. Overall, it is worth giving the Nexus 6P a try if you’re looking for a newer phone.
