CM Punk finally has an opponent

The former WWE wrestler is yet to make his mixed martial arts debut despite being with UFC for over a year now, but all that looks set to change with promotion finding a candidate to fight CM Punk.

UFC president Dana White used his new online reality series called “Looking for a Fight” to find an opponent for the former WWE superstar, who has zero experience before this and has yet to register an amateur fight to his name. Scouting fighters from two different promotions, Dana White has surprisingly found a fighter who himself called out CM Punk following his first ever victory.

The man to face CM Punk has been revealed as Mickey Gall, who trains out of Miller Brothers MMA and is based in New Jersey. After winning his first fight, Mickey Gall expressed his desire to fight CM Punk but added that he is not aware whether the former WWE start has an opponent or not.

“Hey Dana White, I don’t know if CM Punk has an opponent, but I would love to fight that man, CM Punk,” Gall called out UFC President Dana White to see if he can get a shot against CM Punk.

Then he called out CM Punk and mocked him that he has one win to his name while CM Punk has yet to make his debut.

“Hey, CM Punk, I’m 1-0,” Gall shouted following his first professional victory.”

Although Dana White has not announced that he will give Gall the chance he is craving so badly but he did admit that the guy has got him interested. But for now, there are no reports regarding Punk’s first fight and even the press is out in the cold and have no clue when will CM Punk step foot in the Octagon.

CM-Punk

CM Punk would have had his first fight in 2015 but a shoulder injury hampered his progress midway. His slow progress has got Daniel Cormier and Kenny Florian worried who were expecting Punk to make his debut a lot earlier. They expressed their concerns about that but admitted that the injury had a major role to play in that. However, the fact that CM Punk is not ready yet is what concerns the duo.

“Let’s talk about some of that time passing, this is what really concerns me because they said he was going to fight in 2015, he needs some time to train. Well, it hasn’t happened. I know he’s dealt with some other injuries and things like that but the fact that they say he’s not ready concerns me,” Florian on CM Punk’s slow progress.

However, Punk’s head coach is not worried about that has criticized Florian and Cormier over their comments. He assured the press that CM Punk is progressing at a great rate and promised a great show from the former WWE star when he will make his debut.

“I just left him at the gym and he had one of the best sessions he’s had in training so far,” Roufus told Sirius XM recently.
