Donald Trump’s misogynistic past came back to haunt him during the first presidential debate Monday evening.

While confronting the Republican nominee with his long record of degrading women, Hillary Clinton brought up Alicia Machado’s name.

Machado, a native Venezuelan, won the 1996 Miss Universe pageant, which Trump owned at the time. She made headlines last month after announcing she had finally gotten her American citizenship and had every intention to vote against the candidate who once called her “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping.”

“One of the worst things (Trump) said was about a woman in a beauty contest,” Clinton said during Monday’s debate at Hofstra University. “He called this woman ‘Miss Piggy.’ Then he called her ‘Miss Housekeeping’ because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name. Her name is Alicia Machado and she has become a U.S. citizen and you can bet she’s going to vote this November.”

Meanwhile, Machado took to Twitter to thank Clinton for reminding American voters of Trump’s disgraceful comments.

“Thank you Mrs. @HillaryClinton. Your respect for women and our differences make you great! I’m with you!” she tweeted in Spanish as the two presidential candidates verbally brawled on.

In a second tweet, Machado shared a selfie flashing her newly obtained passport.

Machado, 39, who is now an actress, TV host and singer, was the fourth Venezuelan woman to ever be named Miss Universe.

Shortly after winning the pageant, Machado gained some weight. In an interview posted to Clinton’s Twitter handle directly after the debate, Machado recalled with horror Trump ambushing her with a large group of reporters during a workout session.

“She weighed 118 pounds or 117 pounds and she went up to 160 or 170 so this is somebody who likes to eat,” a red-faced Trump said in an interview at the time.

Machado also recalled Trump regularly hurling demeaning comments at her.

“He’d tell me, ‘you look ugly,’ or ‘you look fat,'” she says in the interview.

Even Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, couldn’t confine herself from slipping out some truth about the Republican nominee’s laundry list of demeaning comments about women.

In a seeming Freudian slip, Conway told aFox News reporter during a post-debate interview that Trump “came ready to say some rough things if (Clinton) was going to challenge him about his abusive…er…about his record on women.”
